• Should I Book a Group Game or Walk On?

DSC06496When it comes to paintball, you need other people to play with. If you don’t have at least one other person, it becomes target practice. When you decide to play at AC Paintball in southern New Jersey, you have two options; you can schedule a game with people you know ahead of time or you can walk on and play with completely new people.

Both options have multiple benefits and things you may not like. To help you make your decision, AC Paintball had created this list of comparisons.

Know the People You’re Playing With

If you are an introvert, socializing with new people can be exhausting. You may prefer to stick with the people you know. You may want to play with someone you can trust and know how to talk to. Scheduling a group game ahead of time helps ensure you are a little more comfortable during your AC Paintball game.

Paintball is a sport that requires a great deal of communication and if you are not comfortable talking to your teammates, you may not do as well as you could. Even if you do already know the people you are playing with well, paintball can give you a chance to strengthen your relationships while having fun with your friends and family.

    Make New Friends

On the other hand, you may be more of an extrovert and love meeting new people. You can learn something from everyone and that is exciting. Talking to the same few people all the time may seem a bit boring to you. In this case, choosing to walk on may be your best option.

Paintball may be your thing, but it may not be the same case for your current friends and family. Visiting AC Paintball as a walk-on gives you a chance to make friends who do share your interest in paintball. Even if you are more of an introvert, being a walk-on to an AC Paintball game can help you practice your social skills for use in other areas of your life.

    Know What to Expect

DSC06611When you play with a predetermined group, you know what to expect. You know how many people you will be playing against and may have an idea of what their skill levels are. This can be comforting if you are a bit anxious about your AC Paintball game. It can also help you figure out a better strategy to win the game.

    Learn To Adapt

When you don’t know what to expect, it can be a little intimidating. However, it gives you the chance to become a better person by learning to adapt. Not every event in your life is something you can plan for. Sometimes you have to know how to improvise and deal with whatever hand life deals you. When you choose to be a walk-on to an AC Paintball game, you can practice your ability to adapt without your choices affecting you as much as they would in the real world.

    Planning an Outing

Choosing to schedule a group game can take quite a bit more planning than a walk-on game. The larger your group, the more people you have to organize. You have to figure out what days everyone is available and make sure that day is free on AC Paintballs schedule as well. You may have to make sure everyone pays, can find a ride to AC Paintball, and knows how to dress appropriately. On top of that, you may also want to consider things like snacks, decorations, and post-game meals.

If you enjoy planning parties and getting everyone together, this is a great option for you, especially with AC Paintball’s group discounts.

    Just Go and Have Fun

If party planning is not your thing, walking on can let you just have fun without all the pressure of planning. The only thing you have to worry about is preparing yourself and AC Paintball’s schedule. Saturday is our normal game day with walk-on availability. Standard game scheduling also applies to make sure you arrive on time for either the morning or afternoon paintball session.

    Why Not Both?

If you don’t want to show up completely alone, you may also want to consider bringing along just one or two friends to walk on with you. This way you have someone there that you know and are comfortable with and can still get the chance to meet new people. You can have the best of both options and have fun with both your old and your new friends at AC Paintball.

  • Organizing a Paintball Event

Paintball is a great social game to play with friends and family. Getting everyone together last minute is nearly impossible, though. If you want to play paintball with specific people, you have to plan ahead of time. This way, everyone invited can mark the event on their calendars and make sure they don’t have other plans. Organizing an event involves a lot of planning. There are a lot of responsibilities to take care of before you can play. Let AC Paintball in southern New Jersey help. Follow these steps, and contact AC Paintball if you have any questions.

    AC Paintball

    Pick a Location

The first step after deciding to host a paintball event, it to decide where you should play. Think about where all of your guests live and try to choose a local place. If your party lives near southern New Jersey, AC Paintball is a convenient location. They also have a variety of outdoor fields to choose from. A convenient location will increase the likelihood of your guests being able to attend.

    Pick a Field

When choosing an AC Paintball field, you will want to think about what field is best for the games you wish to play. Wooded fields work well for capture-the-flag games. Speedball fields are good for strategic games. You will also want to take your party size into account. If you have a large party, choose a large field like AC Paintball’s Blue Thunder Woods Field. If you have a small party, you may want to choose a smaller field such as the Hyperball Field.

    Invite Players

The people you invite to your event can determine how much fun you have. Try to invite people you enjoy being around. Having a group that gets along well together will help make your event a success. It is also a good idea to use a spreadsheet to keep everybody organized. This will help you keep track of when people are available and whether they have paid yet.

You may also want to think about creating teams at this point. Do you want to rearrange teams throughout the day or have a tournament with the same teams? If you really want to get into the team spirit, you can discuss team names, uniforms, etc.

    Pick a Package

After you know how many players are coming, you will want to look into the packages. AC Paintball has two main group packages, the Morning Party or the Afternoon Party. You should ask your guests if they have better availability before or after noon. If most are available before noon, you should go with the morning 9am – 12noon package. If more are available in the afternoon, the afternoon 12noon – 4pm package would work best. With AC Paintball’s group packages, one organizer or celebrant also plays for free.

    Make a Reservation

Once you know when most of your party is available, you can pick a day and make a reservation. Be sure to check the weather in southern New Jersey before scheduling. If you pick a stormy day, you will likely end up rescheduling. Then you will have to check when everyone is available again.  If you need to cancel, be sure to give AC Paintball written notice 24 hours before your appointment. You can schedule a game here: https://acpaintball.com/schedule-paintball-game/.

    Prepare for the Event

Finally, you can plan all the last minute details that will make for a fun event. You can gather extra props, plan refreshments, or create prizes.  Adding small details will help make your event memorable. If you want to be extra helpful, check in with your guests and make sure they have all the gear and supplies they need. You may help them remember to pack an item they almost forgot. After you make sure everyone is set, enjoy your hard work. Have fun playing with your friends at AC Paintball.

  • AC Paintball Now Booking Games!

We’ve been working overtime to get AC Paintball ready for live games ASAP. We’re happy to announce that we are now operational!

The facility and fields will continue to experience growth, development, and refinement as we go. In fact, you can expect change and improvement for the next year or two. However, we feel that we have gotten things to a point where players will really enjoy the experience.

In time we intend to have a full clubhouse with gear available for purchase. We already have the building and infrastructure in place for that, so hopefully we will have full accommodations sooner rather than later.

If you are a paintball player in the Northeast (PA, NJ, NY, DE, etc) we want you to give us a try. Our prices are some of the lowest you’ll find and we really care about each paintball squad that steps onto our fields.
