• 7 AC Paintball Tips for Snipers

paintball-1278899_960_720To be a good sniper, it is important to have the personality and skills that help you excel at the position. Many AC Paintball players find that stealthy and intelligent players make the best snipers. Whether you naturally possess these qualities or not, you can always improve your game. AC Paintball offers these tips for improving your snipping skills. By practicing these abilities you can improve both your game as well as your team’s strength.

    Learn to Be a Loner

When you play a sniper in AC Paintball’s New Jersey fields, most times you will find yourself alone. Typically snipers go behind enemy lines with little to no backup. You have to have the mental strength to take out your opponents and protect yourself at the same time. At home, you can practice strengthening your mind and consciousness. You may find it helps you become a better sniper.

    Learn to Outwit Your Opponents

One of the best ways to win an AC Paintball game, it to outwit your opponents. This is especially important for snipers. If you can take out your opponent before they know you are there, you stop them in their tracks. You can foil the other team’s strategy and take control of the game.

A good way to outwit your opponent is to get in your opponents head. Try to get in your opponent’s head and think about what their plan may be. Think about where they may be moving to and get set up to surprise them. The key is to eliminate them before they even know you are there. Figure out how to ambush them or interfere with your opponent’s plan.

    Practice Accuracy

Snipers have to be accurate. Their first shot has to hit their target to be effective. After the first shot, your opponent will know where you are. If that first shot doesn’t hit, your target will either run away or retaliate and shoot back. Not only will that person know where you are, but everyone else on that AC Paintball field will as well.

You can buy equipment to practice at home or you can visit AC Paintball in Williamstown, New Jersey. To save some money, consider purchasing AC Paintball membership. You can learn more about AC Paintball membership here: https://acpaintball.com/ac-paintball-club-discounts-and-deals/.

crosshair-278817_960_720Be Ready to Become a Target

Good snipers invoke fear in their opponents and soon become a target. If you surprise and take out most of the enemy’s important players, they will likely focus on taking you out of the game. You should be ready to run and hide if you are spotted. It is a good idea to plan your hiding spot ahead of time and wear some camouflage.

    Be Quiet

Everyone should be quiet while playing paintball, but a sniper needs to be especially quiet. It is important to not give away your position. You should get into position early and only move when no one is around. This will help you keep your cover and surprise your opponents. If opponents come near you, you have to control yourself. Be patient and stay hidden. You don’t have to shoot, every player who comes near you.

Learn When To Fire and When Not To Fire

Snipers need to carefully pick and choose when to fire. If you shoot every opponent, that comes your way, you risk getting ambushed. You have to learn how to analyze each situation and make good choices. Only fire when it’s in your team’s best interest. An eliminated sniper is useless. You need to make sure every shot is safe enough to keep you in the game.

Don’t fire at when a group is nearby. A group is more likely to hit you before you shoot all of them. If a group is nearby, pay attention to their conversations. You may collect important info that you can report back to the rest of your team.

    Invest in the Right Equipment

valken paintball gunFinally, a sniper needs the right equipment. Their marker should be accurate and they should use quality paintballs. Some regular paintballs may drift to the side if they are not perfectly round. High-quality paintballs typically keep their spherical shape and fly straighter.

You also need to know how to properly use your equipment. Practice loading and shooting your marker before beginning your AC Paintball game. Mid-battle is not the time to be fumbling and figuring out how your gun works. With the right equipment and set of skills, you are sure to be a successful sniper.

  • Determining How Many Paintballs to Buy

paintball_packWhen you play at AC Paintball in southern New Jersey, you need working equipment and plenty of ammo. If you run out of paintballs mid-game, you lose your ability to defend yourself. You also won’t be able to take out your opponents. This situation is a disadvantage to not only you but to your team as well.

Your options will be slim. You will either have to find a friend to borrow from or eliminate yourself from the game. If you choose to borrow, you also waste time finding a friend and reloading your gun. This gives plenty of time for your opponents to take you out of the game anyway.

Don’t let this situation happen to you. Make sure you have the ammo you need and check your equipment ahead of time. If you are new to paintball, you may not know how many paintballs you will need. There are many variables to take into consideration. AC Paintball is here to help. We have created this guide to help you figure out just how much ammo you will need for playing at AC Paintball.

If you need to get out some aggressions, you can estimate to add about 100 more. If you want to relax more and just have fun, you can subtract 100. Most of AC Paintball’s packages include three to four hours of playtime. You also get 200 paintballs and most of the equipment you will need. How Often Do You Like to Shoot?

Are you an aggressive player or a relaxed player? When it comes to paintball there are two different shooting methods. Some players use the “spray and pray” method where they continuously fire paintballs. They do not take much time to aim and just point in their opponent’s general direction. This tactic will call for more paintballs. You may want to add about 100 paintballs to your total.

Other paintball players are patient and take the time to aim. They make sure they hit their target and conserve paintballs. This approach does not need as many paintballs. You may only need about 100 paintballs. Both methods can be effective depending on your skills and preferences.

    What Position Are You Playing?

The position you play affects how often you will need to shoot. If you choose to be a Backman or being part of the infantry, you can plan on shooting a lot. These players handle ambushes and defend their teammates. Frontmen and Snipers, on the other hand, will not need as many paintballs. They are in charge of completing the mission and taking out specific targets.

    What Game Are You Playing?

The game you choose to play can also affect how many paintballs you will need. It might not affect the number as much as much as your mood and preferences, though. In scenario games, the scenario you choose will determine how many paintballs you need. If you choose a scenario with a lot of shooting action, you will need more paintballs. Yet, if you choose a scenario with more story and less action, you may not need as many. Usually, players report needing more paintballs on average when playing scenario paintball.

Most woodsball players report using an average of 200 paintballs. Take into consideration, however, that AC Paintball’s wooded fields are our largest fields. This means that you may end up doing more running and less shooting. You might be able to get away with just 150 paintballs. AC Paintball’s speedball courses are on the smaller side and see more shooting action. Most players report using an average of 200 paintballs, but you may want to carry more, just in case.

    Are You On a Budget?

When you play paintball, there are many pieces of equipment you need to rent. At AC Paintball, most of the equipment is already included in the paintball package. After you buy a package, you may have to budget the rest of your money. In this case, you will want to be conservative with your shooting. You may want to consider splitting a pack of paintballs and the cost with a friend. If you are low on ammo, another option is to create your own mini game that does not need many paintballs.

    paintball-1278901_960_720

How Long Are You Planning on Playing?

If you choose AC Paintball’s morning paintball package you get three hours of playtime. This means you will need approximately 600 paintballs. If you choose AC Paintball’s afternoon package, you get four hours of play time. This means you will need approximately 800 paintballs. Don’t forget to take the other variables into consideration, though.

You will also want to take breaks into consideration. You likely won’t play for 3-4 hours straight. AC Paintball recommends taking short breaks to rest and refuel. You should take breaks into consideration when planning how many paintballs you will need. If you plan on taking a half hour break, you can plan to take about 100 paintballs off of your total.

Do You Still Have Paintballs Left?

If you still have paintballs left at the end of the day, you can always save them for your next visit you AC Paintball in Williamstown, New Jersey. You can bring your friends and save with one of AC Paintball’s group packages. You can also try a different field or game and have a new exciting paintball experience.

Water also helps lubricate your joints and avoid cramps.

water-830374_960_720Drinking some Gatorade can also help you replace electrolytes. Milk is a good drink choice after playing at AC Paintball. Milk is slowly released into your small intestine. • Team Tips for Playing Woodsball at AC Paintball

Paintball is a team sport and for your team to win, each individual player needs to contribute. They need to fulfill their roll, stick to the plan, and be a good teammate. In some cases, a single player can affect the outcome of the game. They could be the difference between winning and losing. Everyone wants to win. AC Paintball in Williamstown, southern New Jersey offers these tips to help your team.

Playing paintball in the woods is different than playing speedball. The terrain is different and calls for different team strategies. Before playing at AC Paintball, you should plan a strategy with your team members. This will help your team be successful and have fun while playing Woodsball at AC Paintball.

    forrest-618081_960_720

    Plan Movement Strategies and Positions

Careful movements are a crucial aspect of Woodsball. With dead leaves and sticks all over the ground, each step can be noisy. There are also different paths to use. You should discuss movement strategies with your team before arriving at AC Paintball. Assign positions and plan where each player should go. Some teams like to use a leap-frog type movement to move forward through the course. Others separate into groups and head off in different directions.

You should have both a proactive and a reactive strategy. It is a good idea to keep your plans simple. Complicated plans can also confuse your teammates and create chaos. Most plans can change the minute the first shot is fired anyway. You never know what strategy your opponent will use and you will need to adjust accordingly.

    Create a Communication System

AC Paintball’s wooded courses are larger than our speedball courses. It is a good idea to buy Walkie-Talkies or Headsets to communicate with each other. Otherwise, you will have to yell across the field to converse with your teammate. This will give away your positions and could make you lose your voice by the end of the day.

If you don’t have Walkie-Talkies to use, you may want to find another form of communication to use. If you stay close enough to see each other, you can use hand or body motions. Most of the time, you will want to keep as quiet as possible. You should move and execute noisier plans while others are making noise.

Plan a Strategy for Cover and Backing Each Other Up

If you don’t have a strategy for backing each other up, you will likely struggle to reach your goals. Typically, teams have a single person or group that heads off the mission. This person handles completing tasks and finding the enemy. If this person doesn’t have players to cover them, it makes it much more difficult to succeed.

You should plan what each player should do if someone gets caught in an ambush. Figure out an exit strategy and who will be responsible for defense. You may also want to plan to make distracting noises at important points.  Also, figure out who will take up the roles of eliminated players.

    paintball-1278896_960_720

    Teamwork

A paintball team is like a machine. If a single part doesn’t work, the entire system can experience problems. As a teammate, you should always come into a game with a good attitude and be ready to listen to others ideas. If you have an opinion you should definitely voice it, but don’t cause a fight. A fight can throw your team’s chemistry off. Be ready to help each other out and give each other tips.

If your team has a plan, you shouldn’t deviate just because you think you know better. Doing so can throw everyone else off their tasks and cause the team to struggle. If you do see a reason to change the plan, though, make sure everyone knows and is on the same page.

If you want to play at AC Paintball many times, you may also want to consider specializing in positions. Doing so will narrow the focus of each player’s role. Then each player will become more skillful in their responsibilities. This will help the entire team will improve. If you want to learn more about each position, read AC Paintball’s blog about choosing team roles. Follow this link:  https://acpaintball.com/2016/07/12/choosing-roles-for-your-paintball-team/.

    Think Outside the Box

A common downfall for teams is being too predictable. If you use the same strategy each game, your opponent will soon learn how to beat you. Thus, it is a good idea to think outside the box. Do some research and learn some ways to trick your opponents and throw them off their guard.

When your team comes into a firefight, don’t just stand in one place and continue to shoot at each other. This can get boring after a while. Instead, come up with an idea to flank the other team. Have a few players run off and sneak up behind your opponents. This will make for a much more interesting game at AC Paintball.

  • 10 Rules of Paintball Etiquette

texture1Paintball players generally have a high standard of sportsmanship. Everyone has the same goal: an action-packed day of friendly competition. Respect the players, respect the game, and you’ll have a great time. Here are some general paintball etiquette rules to abide by:

    1.  Safety first

Set your marker to shoot at a maximum velocity of 300 fps as required by law (At ACP we have a strict limit of 280 fps and we use pre-game velocity check technology). Anything higher can cause welts and broken skin. It’s a good idea to double check your marker’s velocity is at a safe limit before each game, even if you recently adjusted it.

    2. Keep your mask on

Never remove your mask on the field for any reason. If you see that someone has lost their mask on the field, don’t shoot. Yell “blind man” so other players are aware. Always use barrel plugs after play and keep your mask on until all barrel plugs are in place.

    3. Don’t be a jerk

Always respect your teammates and opponents. No pushing, shoving, or any physical contact at all. Don’t bonus ball just for amusement. It only takes one solid hit for a player to be out. Shooting players multiple times unnecessarily is an easy way to discourage beginners from coming back.

    4. Remember paintball is a team sport

Don’t act like you own the field; give everyone a chance to get in on the action. Solid teamwork will win you more games than a focus on individual glory.

    5. Mind your fire

Never blind fire. If you can’t see what you’re shooting at, don’t shoot. You could accidentally hit the refs or local wildlife.

    6. Never shoot point blank

Paintballs can hurt at close range, even with protective gear! Allow opponents the opportunity to surrender if you have a clear shot within a range of 10 ft. If the player doesn’t surrender, aim for a shoe, gear, or padded area.

    7. Don’t cheat

When you’re hit, you’re hit. Don’t wipe paint off and keep playing; this is considered cheating. Hits a quarter size or bigger on anything you carry (gear, mask, marker, hopper, etc.) count. If you’re unsure if you’re hit, signal for a ref or yell “paint check.”

    8. Clear the field when you’re hit

Raise your arms and marker so other players know you’ve been hit. Quickly make your way to a safe zone to avoid being caught in crossfire. Never fire after you’ve been hit.

    9. Respect the ref

The referee’s ruling is the final word. Signal for the ref to judge if there are any disputes during play. The ref can eject you from the game for breaking any rules of the field.

    10. Be a good sport

We know it’s a competition and you want to win. Strategize the heck out of the game, but don’t get too aggressive to the point that you risk injury. Congratulate the winners with a “good game” even if you’re unhappy you lost.

  • Paintball Excitement in Williamstown, NJ! Affordable and Fun For All Ages

williamstown nj paintballAC Paintball is located in the heart of Williamstown, New Jersey, and we couldn’t be happier with the way local residents have embraced us. Owner Bill Hayes is a long time resident of Williamstown and just two short years ago had an idea about converting some of his Emu Ranch into a paintball facility. It sounded a little crazy at first, but Bill has never been one for timid decisions. First of all, the facility started off with Emus on it! Second, Bill’s day job as a personal injury lawyer has taught him how not to be intimidated or scared into inaction. As a result, he decided to make AC Paintball a reality.

    We’ve Grown Into a Williamstown Go-To Facility

Once word got out that we were in business we had a few test runs from local players and college students. Our professional staff, high quality gear, and well-trained referees helped all of our early players have a good time. Before long word spread and we began receiving game requests every weekend. Now we’ll have as many as eight or nine bachelor and birthday parties in a single day! We love to accommodate each and every one of these parties in order to make them feel welcome and cared for. If everybody has a good time we feel our job is complete.

Our offerings have only increased as time has gone on and we have developed affordable packages to meet the needs of all kinds of players and groups.
