• Halloween Twists to Add to Your October Paintball Party

raven-988218_960_720Halloween is just around the corner. If you are planning on booking a party at AC Paintball sometime soon, you may want to consider adding a Halloween theme to make things a bit more interesting. There are multiple ways you can make your AC Paintball party a bit more festive. All it takes is a bit of research for ideas, a little initiative to make it happen, and some good friends to make your party fun.

To help you get started planning, AC Paintball in southern New Jersey has compiled this list of spooky and fun ways you can incorporate a Halloween theme into your paintball game.

    Costumes

Halloween is a time to dress up as one of your favorite characters. You can do the same for your AC Paintball game. You can dress up as zombies, ghosts, monsters or almost anything you want. Doing so can help add some authenticity to a scenario game or just make things more entertaining.

There are a few aspects you will want to take into consideration when choosing your costume. Paintball is a game that requires a lot of movement. Whatever you decide to wear, you should be able to move around easily. Before leaving for AC Paintball be sure to test that you can run, jump, crouch, and move your arms in all directions. Pay attention to footwear as well. Sneakers are often the best option. Checking the weather and preparing appropriately will also be helpful.

    Games

A large part of your AC Paintball experience is choosing which type of game you want to play. There are multiple basic games to play and even more ways to tweak them. For instance, if you wanted to make capture-the-flag more Halloween themed, you could use a witches broomstick instead of a flag.

You could also create your own game based on trick-or-treating where you go around collecting candy or tokens and try to collect as much as you can before getting eliminated. Whoever collects the most wins. You could even set up a scenario paintball game based on your favorite Halloween or horror movie. Just get together with your friends and brainstorm some ideas. You are sure to come up with something great!

    Awards

female paintball playerOne way to make any AC Paintball more exciting is to give awards to your guests. Awards give people something to play for. It also gives them something to take home with them to remember your party. They will likely show it to their friends later and tell them all about the fun they had. It is a simple way to make your party a little more special and memorable.

With some brainstorming, you can think of some great Halloween-themed award titles. For instance, you can make a “Count” Dracula award for the person who eliminates the most opponents or has the highest kill “count.” Since werewolves are typically loud and howl at the moon, you could make a werewolf award for the best communicator on the field. A ghost award would be a great title for the best hider or the player who is the best at avoiding getting hit.

    Snacks

After a few intense games at AC Paintball, your guests are going to want some snacks to refuel and gain more energy for more games. While it is easy to go crazy with the sweets at Halloween time, be sure to prepare some healthy foods. Oranges or tangerines can pose as small pumpkins with a bit of imagination. Grapes can be turned into eyeballs. You can also add stickers or paper cutouts to bags filled with various snacks.

Once you cover healthy snacks, you can add some tastier and less healthy snacks as a reward. You can use a Halloween cookie cutter to make cookies or rice crispy treats. You can cover cupcakes, pretzels, or other goodies with black, orange, and purple sprinkles.

  • Common Misconceptions about Paintball

close-eyes-1879094_960_720Most sports and hobbies come with a variety of expectations about the activities themselves and the people who participate in that activity.  While some of these expectations may be true, others are merely misconceptions. Paintball is no exception. There are multiple stereotypes surrounding paintball.

AC Paintball in southern New Jersey is here to contest these misconceptions. Below are some common beliefs about paintball and its players that are either completely false or not entirely true.

    It’s Dangerous and Violent

With paintball markers closely resembling guns, some may be quick to associate paintball with danger and violence. However, paintball actually has few reported injuries compared to other popular sports such as soccer, basketball, hockey, and football.

While guns may fire paintballs quickly, it is rare for players to endure a serious injury. With the use of some padding, players can soften the blow and help protect themselves from bruises. Even without padding, players can build up their resistance to bruises by strengthening their muscle tissue.

AC Paintball also has many rules and regulations in place to help ensure the safety of our players. Referees provided by AC Paintball will also help ensure that all players are following these rules.

It Is a Male Dominated Sport

When picturing a paintball player, many people may likely picture a male first. In fact, many extreme sports are typically thought of as being male-dominated. However, this is not the case. While a large percentage of paintball players may be males, female interest is growing quickly.

Both males and females can be skilled players and many talented female players visit AC Paintball on a daily basis. We have also hosted many bachelorette parties for thrill-seeking bridal parties. Being a girl should never stop you from playing paintball if it is something you are interested in, so don’t let anyone stop you if it is something you want to give a try.

Having Cool Gear or Lack of Padding Makes You a Pro

Paintball gear can get expensive. With that in mind, some may think that the cooler the gear you have, the more likely you are to be a pro. This is not always the case. Some people buy fancy equipment just because they want to. The look of the gear may just be an important aspect to them.

paintball-2220450_960_720Others are happy just to rent their equipment, but this does not mean they aren’t good players. Just because a player rents gear from AC Paintball, doesn’t mean they won’t be the toughest opponent you have ever faced. You have to stay on your toes and be ready for anything.  Just like you can’t judge a book by its cover, you shouldn’t judge a player based on their gear.

    Experienced Players Hate Beginners

While there may always be a few experienced players who prefer to play only with other professional players, most experienced players are happy to help out beginners. Most players would be happy to provide tips and tricks to players who are just starting out. Helping others makes players feel useful and is a good way to make friends. At AC Paintball we all share a common interest in paintball and are happy to help interest in the sport grow and thrive.

You Have to Stick with an Archetype

When it comes to sports, many athletes are put into specific positions and trained to specialize in that position. They may end up playing that position for most of their lives. It doesn’t have to be that way though. At AC Paintball we encourage to try different positions, games, and equipment. You don’t have to stick to always playing speedball and being a Backman with a Tippman 98 just because that is what you did the first time.

Trying various equipment, games, and positions at the beginning will help you find what you like most and what you are best at. Even if you have been playing for a while, changing things up can help you improve in other areas. By getting other perspectives, you can learn how to better support your team. If you’re ready to try something new, schedule a game at AC Paintball now!

  • Tips for Introducing Your Friend to Paintball

pokemon-1553995_960_720Introducing another friend or family is a great way to bond with them. You can get away from your electronic devices, get a good workout, and blow off some steam from daily stresses. Some of your friends may get nervous when they hear you ask them to join you though. However, if you can persuade them to give it a try, they may find out that they love it!

The key is to make their first time playing as fun and enjoyable as possible. Try to make it even better than your first time. AC Paintball in southern New Jersey is here to help with these tips to help you accomplish this task.

Explain What They Can Expect Their First Time

Think about times in your life when you have had to do something completely new that you knew little to nothing about. You may have been nervous about unexpected problems popping up or making a big mistake. If your friend is a beginner, it is a good idea to let them know what to expect. Tell them about your first time playing, what you learned, and how they can avoid common mistakes.

You can even choose an AC Paintball field and game type ahead of time. Show them the field and explain the specific of the game. By getting them into the right mindset, they will be more confident to give paintball a try.

    Attend to Their Concerns

Your friend may have other concerns other than not knowing what to expect. Be sure to let them vent and help them quell any fears by being supportive. If they are nervous about the pain of getting hit, tell them to wear thick clothing or padding. AC Paintball also has rules and regulations in place to help ensure player’s safety.  You can also let them that they will get used to it.  Paintball may look dangerous, but it actually sees fewer injuries than other popular sports.

If they are concerned about not being good their first time, let them know that many players make mistakes their first time. That is how you learn and get better. You can also give them some of your tips so they feel like they are ahead of the game. People tend to like doing things they are good at so if your tips make them play well, they may end up liking paintball more.

Show Them Why You Think Paintball is Fun

Think about why you like paintball so much. What aspects make it fun to you? Chances are if someone is your friend, you probably have similar tastes and interests. So if you show them what you like about playing at AC Paintball, they may learn to like it as well.

paintball bacheloretteAlso, almost any experience is more fun when you are with someone who is enjoying themselves. Moods can be contagious, so if you smile and laugh, your good mood may rub off on them. Then they will associate that fun with playing paintball and want to play with you more often.

    Include Things They Like

Think about your friend’s other interests and try to incorporate those interests into their first AC Paintball game. For example, if they are competitive, give them a challenge during the game. You can even add prizes or bets. If you have a little money to spare have the loser buy the winner dinner or ice cream after the game. If not, just play for titles such as MVP, Best Sniper, or something silly like a largest welt award.

If they are stylish, let them design or choose a uniform to play in. If they like capture-the-flag or certain scenarios, try to work it into your game. Make up crazy rules to follow and personalize the AC Paintball game to their tastes.

Bring Other Friends They Are Comfortable With

One of the reasons you may be trying to get your friend involved is because you want someone familiar to play with. Likewise, adding other people your friend is familiar with will also help them feel more comfortable.

Playing with people you don’t know can be intimidating for some, especially if they have to play against professional players. Try to play with others on your friend’s level. If you can’t find anyone else to join you and your friend, you can always make friends with other players and staff. The more friends you make, the more fun you can have playing at AC Paintball in Williamstown, New Jersey.

  • Woodsball vs. Speedball

1024px-Skirmish_Exeter_Paintball01When you visit AC Paintball in southern New Jersey, there are many ways to customize your experience. There are five different fields, dozens of games, multiple party packages to choose from. You and your party will have plenty of choices to make.  One of those choices is between playing Woodsball or Speedball. Scenario paintball is another option, but is typically scripted and takes more planning.

While Woodsball and Speedball work similarly, depending on what game you play, they also have many differences. The field, game dynamics, strategies, and equipment are all a bit altered. Below you will find some comparisons to help you choose which game you want to play while at AC Paintball.

    Fields

    Size

One of the first aspects you may notice is that AC Paintball’s Woodsball fields are larger than the Speedball fields. The Blue Thunder Woods Field is out largest field with two lines of military-style tents roughly 150 yards apart. The Black Ops Pentagon Woods Field also offers plenty of square footage and can accommodate large teams. The Red Dawn Woods Field is a bit simpler and smaller can be used for smaller groups that want to play Woodsball.

AC Paintball’s Speedball fields are smaller. We have the Speedball Tournament Field which meets tournament standards. The Hyperball Field is our smallest, but also a fast field. It is the perfect choice for players who love action-packed games.

    Bunkers

Woodsball offers natural bunkers such as trees, brush, and bushes. AC Paintball also adds some additional bunkers to provide good places to hide. Speedball bunkers, on the other hand, are more artificial. This includes air bunkers, drop tanks, wooden spools, and more. In Woodsball the bunkers are typically more spread out while in Speedball they are closer together. Be sure to take this into account when planning a strategy.

    Game

    Team Size

1024px-Scenario_paintballYour party size is one aspect you will want to take into consideration when choosing between Woodsball and Speedball. If you have a large team, you may want to choose Woodsball so you have more room to spread out. Small teams may be more interested in Speedball so the games do not take too long. While team size is definitely something to consider, you should team size should be a lower priority. AC Paintball will work to help accommodate your team on whichever field you choose.

    Speed

If you want a fast, action-packed game, go with Speedball. If you want a slightly slower, more strategic game, go with Woodsball. With a smaller field, Speedball games do not take very long. It is more difficult to hide and much easier to eliminate opponents. In a Woodsball game, players spread out more and hide which makes for a longer game.

    Movement

You will want to take your energy level into consideration. Would you rather have to move faster, but not far, or farther, but with a bit more time? In Speedball you need a quick reaction time to be able to jump from bunker to bunker without getting hit. Woodsball allows more time for you to move around as long as your opponents aren’t too close.

    Strategies

    Simplicity

The strategy is an important part of any AC Paintball game. The strategy your team uses can be the difference between winning and losing. Speedball’s strategies are typically a bit simpler. Unlike Woodsball, you don’t have to think as much about movement or hiding places. While you still should strategize, you are in such close quarters that there are fewer options.

    Level of Aggression

Paintball_game_DVIDS158380With a faster game and closer quarters, Speedball can get pretty aggressive. If you are the type of person who loves competition, Speedball may be the right choice for you. Woodsball is a better choice for those who want things slightly more relaxed and laid back. Overall, being daring will serve you best for Speedball while being stealthy and thoughtful will help you more in an AC Paintball Woodsball game.

    Communication

Communication is a key to success. You need your team to be on the same page so your plan will work without any problems. Sometimes you need to change the strategy mid-game based on what your opponents do. In a Speedball game, it is easy to communicate with everyone because they are typically only a few yards away. On the other hand, conversing in Woodsball is difficult. You may not be able to yell because it may give away your position. If you choose Woodsball, be sure to have a backup plan or bring Walkie-Talkies.

    Equipment

    Markers

After you choose which type of game you want to play, you should take your equipment into account. You will want to pick a marker that will complement your skills and help you succeed in your AC Paintball game. For Woodsball, you will want to focus on choosing a gun that can fire long distances accurately. For Speedball, you will want to focus on rapid-fire speed so you can both defend yourself and take our many opponents.

    Choosing Your Game

No matter which game you choose, you are sure to have fun playing with your friends and family at AC Paintball. If you still can’t choose, ask your party for preferences, talk to AC Paintball’s staff for help or check the availability of each field on the date you choose.  You can also come back twice and try both! • AC Paintball Tips for a Center Flag Game

paintball-2220450_960_720If you are getting tired of playing normal capture-the-flag at AC Paintball, why not try a different flag game. Center flag is a separate version of capture-the-flag that that puts a twist on a classic game and ups the ante. In a center flag game, there is only one flag that separate teams compete for. You can play center flag push and try to get the flag onto the other team’s home base, or you can just try to bring it back to your home base.

Whichever version you decide to play, a center flag game is a great way to start your AC Paintball session. You can get your blood pumping and get in the right mindset for four hours of paintball in southern New Jersey.

Put the Fasted Runners In Charge of the Flag

The first step to a successful center flag game is planning strategies and positions. Since the goal of the game is to be the first to get the flag, you should focus on the runners first. Figure out who the fastest runners on the team are and put them in charge of the flag. If you can’t figure out verbally who is the fastest, have a small race before you start. Your runner should be daring and willing to take risks as well. If no one on your team is willing to take a chance and run into a heavy fire zone, you likely won’t win the game.

If you are the runner, you can’t waste any time. When AC Paintball’s referee starts the game, get as close to the flag as you can. In center flag possession is key. The team that typically wins is the team who gets to the flag first. After you nab the flag, be ready to become a target. If by chance, no one notices you grab the flag, try to keep it hidden.

Be Sure To Give Runners Plenty of Back-Up

A runner won’t make it very far without backup. You should assign a majority of your team as middlemen so they can help protect the flag holder. People who like to shoot a lot are excellent for this position. Shooting often will help keep your opponents away so your runner can make it to the base. If you are playing center flag push, you will want to get a good amount of your players in the opponent’s zone. Otherwise, you will want to keep a majority in your home zone.

    Use Best Shooters as Snipers

hiddenshotFinally, you will want to use your best shooters as snipers. The sniper should keep hidden and silent for most of the game. They are in charge of taking out important opponents, such as a runner with a flag. You don’t want to shoot at every opponent that comes your way; focus on key opponents. If an opponent doesn’t notice you, you can be the last defense to keep the opponents from winning.

    Moving

Since two or more teams are fighting for one flag, your AC Paintball center flag game will be more intense than a capture-the-flag game. There is typically a lot more interaction with the other team. You have to move fast but watch your step. Use the bunkers often to keep yourself safe, but don’t stay at the same place for too long.

Traveling in groups of two or three works best as it provides backup, but doesn’t make your group a huge target.  You need to make fast decisions and be very aware. Be sure to bring plenty of ammo to protect yourself, your team, and to eliminate opponents. If you need more ammo, you can purchase more at our facility. If you sign up for an AC Paintball membership, you can save on paintball case purchases.

    Be Tricky and Create Distractions

Another way to win your AC Paintball game is to get a little bit tricky. Try to confuse your opponent by passing the flag between teammates and not letting them know who has it. Have some teammates yell confusing messages such as “I got the flag” every once in a while. This can lead your opponents on the wrong track you the real flag holder and move more freely. If you keep your opponents guessing, you can better your chances of winning the game.

  • How Paintball Can Help You Improve At Other Sports

runner-808932_960_720When you play a sport for a school or club, you may only focus on developing skills that are important to that sport. This is a smart strategy when starting out because you can prioritize practicing the skills you need the most. However, if you have been playing for many years, you may find more improvement by practicing other sports.

Although every sport calls for a basic level of athleticism, every sport works differently. You use different muscles and develop some slightly different set of skills. For example, soccer focuses on your feet, while handball focuses more on your arms.

Even though sports focus on different aspects, trying a different sport can improve your ability to play your own sport. Paintball has many different skill improvement areas to offer. When practicing paintball at AC Paintball, you can help develop a variety of skills found below.

    Running and Moving

Many sports like outdoor volleyball, hockey, and running require the ability to navigate tricky terrain. If you want to improve your ability to move fast while watching where you step, playing Woodsball is great practice. AC Paintball has three main Woodsball fields to offer: the Black Ops Pentagon Woods Field, the Blue Thunder Woods Fields, and the Red Dawn Woods Field. You never know where there will be fallen branch or a rock that you may step on. You have to watch where you step but still move fast and quietly.

Paintball also allows you to practice skills like diving, sliding and rolling. If your opponent is shooting at you, you may need to utilize these tricks to get out of the way. Learning these skills can be useful for athletes playing sports like baseball and football.

    Conditioning

exercise-841167_960_720Almost every sport calls for a certain level of conditioning. Whether your game lasts a long time or you have to play many games, being able to endure is important. Paintball is a great sport to play if you want to build endurance. All AC Paintball’s fields are outside and exposed to New Jersey weather, so you will be exposed to the elements and weather. When you are exposed to harsher conditions than normal, playing in normal conditions becomes easier.

Paintball also works all your muscles. Carrying a gun builds up the muscles in your arms. Running, jumping, and bending in various ways builds your leg and core muscles. By strengthening new muscles you may find increased ability with your skills. You can enhance your skills as an athlete and perform better.

    Aim

Good aim is needed in sports like basketball, soccer, and hockey. You need to be able to aim for the basket or goal, usually while moving. With paintball, aiming is one of the most important skills you need, if not the most important. If you can’t aim well, you can’t eliminate your opponents and will likely be taken out yourself when they retaliate. There are many times when you have to aim while running. You have to constantly be judging your target’s speed and adjust the angle of your marker accordingly. At AC Paintball you can improve your aiming skills while having some fun.

    Decision Making

Every athlete needs good decision-making skills. You need to know when to move, where to move, when to pass, and who to pass to. The list of decisions goes on. In paintball, decision-making is a critical skill. A bad decision can result in the elimination of you or a teammate. With this in mind, there is more pressure to make that right decision than in other sports. Playing paintball can help you learn to make good decisions under pressure. This is an important skill to have when your team is down with only a few minutes left.

    Team Communication

When you play a team sport, communication is crucial. If your teammates don’t know your plans and you don’t know theirs, you can end up making preventable mistakes. You could collide or miss a pass. In paintball communication skills can be the difference between winning and losing. If you don’t tell your team where you are, what your plans are or that you need backup, you will likely run into trouble.

Paintball forces players to count on one another. Scheduling a few games at AC Paintball is a great way to teach your team to communicate and bring them together. To book a game, follow this link: https://acpaintball.com/schedule-paintball-game/.

If an opponent interferes with the plan, you won’t be able to discuss solutions with your team. You have to strategize and make a decision on your own. Playing paintball can build your decision-making skills and help you learn to be independent.

    Good Sportsmanship and Leadership

In most games, there is typically only one winner or one winning team. If you win, it is easy to celebrate and gloat. You become focused on how great you are and forget that everyone else is watching. If you play more than one game at AC Paintball, you may not win every single game. When you don’t win, you get a glimpse of what it is like to be on the other side. Through this experience, you may become a better winner. Good sportsmanship is an important quality to have. It leads you to become a better leader and role model.

    Self-Control and Self-Discipline

Humans are prone to falling into habits and just doing what we want to do. In some aspects, we lack self-control and discipline. Playing at AC Paintball can help add some structure to your life and help you learn to control yourself. For instance, you may want to get in shape, but continually put off exercise. Paintball helps force you to get off the couch and get moving. If you schedule weekly games with your friends, you will have a reason to start exercising. Your friends will count on you to be there and you won’t want to let them down. You will also have to learn to follow directions and focus when there are many distractions.

    Know Your Limits

paintball-1282159_960_720If you never challenge yourself, you will never know what you are capable of. Paintball is a sport that allows you to test yourself both physically and mentally. In paintball, you have to run, squat, dodge, and crouch for long periods of time. Each time you push yourself harder and learn what you can handle. Paintball also calls for you to be aware and listen for opponents. You have to think on your feet and make good decisions. Paintball helps you strengthen your mind and awareness.

    Letting Go of Mistakes

Everyone makes mistakes, but some people are harder on themselves when they make mistakes. It is important to learn that it is okay to make mistakes, as long as you learn from them. With so many different aspects to focus one, it is easy to make a simple mistake. You may be mad at yourself at first, but the more you make mistakes, the better you will learn to let it go. You will also learn from your mistakes and become a better player. In everyday life, if you focus on your mistakes, you may miss out on other opportunities. Paintball will teach you to shake it off and move onto the next task.

    Patience and Persevere

One of the greatest life values paintball can teach you is perseverance. Life doesn’t always give you what you want right away. Sometimes you have to fight for your dreams. When you first start playing paintball at AC Paintball, it may be intimidating. You may play against skilled opponents while you are just beginning you learn the ropes. If you stick with it, though, you may become one of the better players. You just need to practice, have patience and persevere. This lesson will also help you in everyday life when you are trying to obtain your goals and reach your dreams.

  • Tips for Playing Scenario Paintball

There are a variety of paintball games you can play at AC Paintball in southern New Jersey. You may choose to play a traditional speedball game or make things a bit more challenging with a Woodsball game. If you really feel creative, though, scenario paintball may be the game type for you. In a scenario game, you can take your game to the next level in a variety of ways. You can make the game whatever you want it to be by adding a storyline, character interactions, and special challenges. The possibilities are endless.

    paintball-1449870_960_720

AC Paintball has different fields to help accommodate almost any scenario game you want to play. AC Paintball’s wooded fields are perfect for medieval, civil war, or fantasy game scenarios. The Pentagon Field is great for games that need one large base such as a castle or fort.  No matter what game or field you choose, be sure to follow AC Paintball’s scenario paintball tips.

Plan and Follow the Story Line

The main point of any scenario paintball game is the story. Typically, each player chooses a character to play and fulfills their role. You can reenact a pre-existing story or create your own story and characters. Scenario paintball can take a lot of planning. Be sure to plan with everyone before meeting at AC Paintball. You should strategize and make sure everyone knows the storyline.

When you are playing at AC Paintball be sure to know your character and the story. This way you can make sure that you don’t make many mistakes. You can play your part to the best of your ability and help make sure everyone has a great time.

Practice and Get In Shape Before Battle

After you have your character and know the storyline, be sure to practice. Normal paintball already has plenty of components to learn. If you are new to paintball and try to add a storyline, it can be difficult to focus on so many aspects at once. You should study your character and responsibilities before you play at AC Paintball.  This will help you avoid difficulties. You will know your character inside out so you can focus more on hitting your targets.

You may also want to consider getting in better shape. Paintball is a highly active sport. Being in shape will allow you to perform to your best potential on the day of the game. You won’t get tired as quickly, which will help you focus on the storyline rather than your body aching. Getting in shape will also help you feel good and play well.

  • Common Paintball Accidents and How to Avoid Them

With every sport, comes the potential for accidents. Sports are typically fast-paced and give you less time to think and control your actions. If you can’t react fast enough or aren’t paying attention, people can get hurt. Believe it or not, paintball is actually safer than most other sports. Football, hockey, soccer, etc., often see more injuries than paintball. Yet, accidents still happen now and then. Sometimes accidents are unpreventable. Other times the injury can be prevented with a bit more attention to detail.

At AC Paintball in Williamstown, New Jersey, we care about our player’s safety. We take the necessary precautions and have a variety of rules to keep our players safe during play. Just as we do our best to keep you safe, we hope that you will pay extra attention as well. Below you will find some of the most common accidents AC Paintball witnesses. Follow these tips to help prevent accidents.

    Bruises or Welts from Paintballs

Bruises or welts are one of the likeliest injuries to occur with paintball. Without protection, a paintball flying at 200 mph is likely to leave a mark. AC Paintball recommends wearing long sleeves and covering all your skin. The thicker the material, the better your clothing will cushion the blow. You can also wear many layers or padding. You will want enough layers to be protected, but you don’t want too many layers that you get too hot while playing. Try to find a balance.

You will also want to prevent overshooting. The more often the soft tissue of skin gets hit, the more likely it will be to bruise. You only need to hit a player once to eliminate them. Don’t waste your paintballs and risk injuring a friend at the same time. You should also refrain from shooting at anyone within ten feet of range. If you are able to corner someone, ask them to surrender instead. If they refuse, shoot them on their shoe or somewhere with plenty of padding.

    Getting Hit in the Hands

You may think that your hands are strong from working all the time. Yet, they are actually one of the places that will hurt the most when hit. AC Paintball recommends wearing gloves at all times. Gloves will protect your hands when getting hit and also help you grip your marker. Carrying your marker for long periods of time can make your hands sore. Most professional paintball players prefer to wear gloves to protect their hands during play.

Paintball to the Eyes or Face

There is a reason why paintball players wear goggles, visors, and helmets. Not only does a paintball to the face hurt, but a paintball to the eye can cause blindness. AC Paintball rents goggles for five dollars. We inspect our equipment regularly to ensure safety. Yet, it doesn’t hurt to double check your equipment before use. Look for any cracks or broken parts.

You should never take your goggles off during play. Most goggles are too difficult to take off quickly anyway. You should also never shoot at anyone’s face. Take an extra second or two to make sure your shot is accurate. That second could be the difference between having fun playing at AC Paintball and injuring your opponent.

    Tripping and Falling

All AC Paintball’s fields are outdoors and exposed to southern New Jersey weather. This means that there can be many obstacles such as fallen branches and holes. If it rains, the courses will likely be slippery. AC Paintball recommends wearing proper footwear with good traction. You should also watch where you are stepping while running through the field. If you want to be extra cautious, you may want to walk around the field before a game. This will allow you to find obstacles that you will want to watch out for or avoid.

    Misfires

Sometimes if you get too anxious, you may pull the trigger when you don’t intend to. Without aiming, the paintball you shoot has the potential to injure someone. When not playing you should use all the safety features of your marker and equipment. During play, you should only aim your marker at other participants. You don’t want to shoot unprotected spectators or animals.

AC Paintball recommends keeping your finger off the trigger until you intend to shoot. You should also avoid blind shooting. Do not point your marker and fire around a corner before seeing if anyone is there. Not only do you risk injuring someone, but you may take out a teammate. Focus on patience and accuracy rather than shooting quick. While speed may determine who gets hit first, you do not want to sacrifice safety just to win a game.
