    Choosing Roles

    Part of your planning should include who is in charge of what roles. Some people should be in charge of defending the targets you already control. For this role, choose players who are very observant with good aim. Other players will be in charge of gaining new targets. For this role, you should choose your fastest and stealthiest players. It is also a good idea to have some flexible middlemen who can adapt and change roles as needed.

    Have Heavier Defense For Your Highest Point Territory

    Having the most points at the end of the game is what gains you victory. With this in mind, gaining and keeping high point territories will help you win. Therefore, you should place your best defense at your highest point targets.

    Spread Your Team Out

    However, you should also think about the location of each target. Both teams may try to focus targets near the middle of the AC Paintball field. Meanwhile, territories near the corners or sides of the AC Paintball field may not see as much action and will be easier to keep.

    It may work best for you to have your team spread out and collect small territories first. Then focus on high point important targets toward the end of the game. It’s important to take all variables into consideration when formulating a strategy.

    Pay Attention

    Prepare

    Before you even leave for AC Paintball, you should start preparing for your game. The better you prepare, the easier your day at AC Paintball will be. You can check out some of these helpful AC Paintball blogs to help you prepare.

    When you eat right, wear the right clothing, and bring the right extra items, you can be more comfortable and focused on your AC Paintball game. When you are more comfortable and focused, you will be more successful.

    Go Into Every AC Paintball Game With a Plan

    If you run into your AC Paintball game without a plan, you will likely end up overwhelmed. There are a lot of different aspects to decide including, where to position yourself, what your goal is, and who to shoot at. This is a lot to figure out on the fly, so you should try to plan before your AC Paintball game begins.

    This is actually something your team should plan out together. Coordinate where each person will go and what their role will be. If everyone is playing alone and making their own decisions, it can be difficult to gain an advantage over your opponents. However, if you work together, you can formulate a strategy that makes your team much more powerful.

    Always Test Your Equipment

    Once you have properly prepared f and formulated a plan, you have one last task to perform before your AC Paintball game begins. This task is to test your equipment. Make sure your marker is working properly, your mask is on tight and that you have enough ammo. This will help make sure you don’t run into any problems once the game begins.

    Keep a Low Profile

    The other half of an AC Paintball game is avoiding getting hit so you can stay in the game and eliminate your opponents. The best way to accomplish this is to keep a low profile. The smaller the target you become for your opponents, the more difficult it will be for them to eliminate you. Use the bunkers often and try to keep as much of your body covered as possible. If you try to shoot from behind a bunker, only stick your head out for a second or two. You will also want to keep your arms tucked behind the bunker.

    Keep Moving

    Another way to avoid elimination is to keep moving. If you stay in the same place for too long, you give your opponent’s the opportunity to surround you. It is also more difficult to hit a target on the move than it is to hit a target that is standing still. You may also find it helpful to run in a zig-zag pattern to make it more difficult for your opponents to judge where you will be at a certain time.

    Communicate

    As mentioned before, your AC Paintball team will be a lot more successful if they work together. This means your team needs to communicate often. Make sure everyone knows where they are going and what they are supposed to do. If any part of your team’s strategy changes, it is also important to keep everyone informed. There are many ways to communicate on the field. You can use code words, hand signals, Walkie-Talkies, or have an assigned communicator in charge of delivering messages.

    You will also want to consider stealth when thinking about communication. You don’t want to be yelling across the field all the time. This gives away your position and gives your opponents an advantage.

    Play Safely and Have Fun!

    Paintball is an intense sport. Therefore, you will want to take a little extra care to make sure you and your AC Paintball group don’t get hurt. Be sure to follow the rules, listen to the ref, and, as stated before, make sure all of your equipment is working properly.

    In most AC Paintball games, once you get hit, you are out of the game. With this in mind, dodging becomes a very useful skill. If your opponent is close to you and they have a good gun, it can be nearly impossible to dodge a paintball. However, if you are playing on one of AC Paintball’s wooded fields and are spread out, you have a better chance to dodge a shot that is fired toward you. Therefore, it is important to know how to do so. Below are seven tips that can help you dodge paintballs so you can stay in the AC Paintball game.

    Read Your Opponent

    Start avoiding getting hit before any shots are even fired. Pay close attention to the field. If you notice an opponent aiming at you, watch where they are facing. Then move away from where they are facing. This process will happen fast. It only takes a few seconds to aim and fire so it is important to think faster and stay ahead of your opponent.

    Run In a Zig-Zag Pattern

    If possible, start to dodge before your AC Paintball opponent even gets their finger on the trigger. Run away if you can. As you do, dart back and forth with a zig-zag motion if possible. When you run in a straight line, your opponent may be able to predict where you will be in a few seconds and aim for that spot. However, if you run in an uneven pattern, it will be more difficult to do so.

    Stay Near a Bunker

    You may also find it helpful to stay near a bunker. This way, if you get caught in a tough situation, you can simply dive behind the bunker to take cover. Just make sure you still know where all of your opponents are. You don’t want one to sneak up on you.

    Another useful tactic is to take a walk around the AC Paintball field before your game starts. This will let give you an idea where all of the bunkers are. If you study the layout carefully, you may even see a path of bunkers that you can strategically use to get from one side of the AC Paintball field to the other safely.

    Don’t Always Dodge In the Same Direction

    If your opponent is very observant and strategic, they may start to notice patterns in the way you play. Maybe you always play the same position, maybe you are favoring a certain bunker, or maybe you always dodge the same way.

    When your opponent learns your tendencies, they can use them against you. Therefore, you should try and change up your strategy, playing style, and how you dodge from game to game. Unpredictability can be a valuable attribute during an intense AC Paintball game.

    Don’t Take Too Long to Get Up

    In certain situations, you may dive onto the ground to dodge a paintball. If this happens, it is important to get back up quickly. If you stay on the ground for too long, your opponents can surround you and eliminate you.

    Rolling as you dive is one of the best ways to dodge while allowing you a way to get back up quickly. Do some research and learn proper techniques so you don’t get hurt. Try to land on a part of your body with more fat and muscle to help cushion your fall.

    Practice Moving Speed

    In most cases, the biggest factor that will determine if you safely dodge a paintball or not is how fast you are able to move.     Choose Your Equipment and Outfit Wisely

    The first step to playing offense effectively is to choose the right equipment. In many cases, playing offense involves a lot of running. With this in mind, it is important to choose light-weight equipment. Lightweight equipment may not have the same power as other guns, but having heavier equipment will weigh you down and impede your ability to run.

    You will also want to choose light clothing for the same reason. It is also a good idea to make sure your clothing doesn’t make much noise as you run. This will help you be stealthy if you have to sneak somewhere to capture a flag or surprise an opponent.

    Divide and Conquer, Use Flanking

    Next, you will want to start thinking about strategy. One popular strategy for playing offense is divide and conquer. If your entire team stays together, it becomes easy for your opponents to simply shoot at your group and start eliminating players. On the other hand, if you split up, your opponents have to find you first and can only take out a few at a time, if any at all.

In most cases, you are better off taking the extra time to aim and just fire one shot, or a few more if you happen to miss. This is especially true for snipers whose job is to stay hidden and take out important opponents.

    Take Chances

    In defense, playing it safe is usually a good idea, but when you play offense, taking chances is a better strategy. While you still want to make smart choices, taking risky chances is often how AC Paintball games are won. As Wayne Gretzky once said, “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”

    You are in a race against your opponents to accomplish your goal. This means you have to act fast.     Paintball is a game where you are constantly on the move. If you stay in the same place for too long, you are likely to be hit and eliminated by an opponent. To stay in your AC Paintball game in southern New Jersey, you have to be smart and have a decent idea what you are doing.

    Whether you are fairly new to the game or are just looking to improve your paintball moving skills, AC Paintball is here to help. Below you will find nine tips for moving during your next AC Paintball game.

    Be Quick, But Careful

    The quicker you move, the more difficult it will be for your opponents to hit you. It is always more difficult to hit a moving target. You should move as quickly as you can, but still be careful and watch where you step. If you fall, you can get hurt and you will give your opponent an even better chance of eliminating you.

    Hop From Bunker To Bunker

    Bunkers are there to help you stay covered. Use them wisely. Bunkers are always laid out with some sort of strategy in mind. If you study the AC Paintball field, you will likely see a path you can use to get to the other side of the field by hopping from bunker to bunker. It is a good idea to take a walk around the AC Paintball field and think about strategy before the game.

    Stay Low to the Ground

    Generally, when people scan a field for movement, they naturally keep their focus at eye level. With this in mind, staying low and close to the ground can benefit you when moving across the field. Whether you crouch or crawl, you can be more stealthy and go undetected more often.

    However, keep in mind that staying close to the ground will likely slow you down. It is a good idea to stay high when you have to go far and fast, but stay low when you only have a short distance to go.

    Watch Where You Step

    Part of being stealthy involves being quiet. If you are playing on one of AC Paintball’s wooded fields, there are a lot of trees and plants around. If it is fall, there will also be many dead leaves on the ground. If you step on a dead leaf or brush up against a branch, your opponents will likely hear you and be able to find you more easily. Be smart about which paths you take while playing and do your best to avoid stepping on dead leaves.

    Don’t Run In a Straight Line

    Even if you are a moving target for your opponents, if you run in a straight line, your opponents can judge where you will be in a few seconds. If you zig-zag back and forth as you run instead, it becomes more difficult for your opponents to judge where you will be. However, once again, this technique can slow down your movement, so you have to use your best judgment as to when to use this technique.

    Practice Balance and Flexibility

    Some of AC Paintball’s fields involve uneven terrain. When navigating uneven terrain, it is important to keep your balance. It is a good idea to work on your balance while at home. Practicing flexibility can also be helpful as you may need to move or stand in different ways during your AC Paintball game. By improving your balance and flexibility, you can become a better overall paintball player.

    Practice Walking in the Mud

    Sometimes it rains at AC Paintball and the fields get muddy. This means you need to take extra care when moving and watch each step. If you feel so inclined, you can practice walking in the mud next time it rains at your house. Doing so may end up giving you an advantage over your opponents at your next AC Paintball game as you will be better adapted to those environmental conditions.

    When you’re playing on one of AC Paintball’s fields in southern New Jersey, there are a variety of aspects to be aware of. If you don’t pay close attention to your surroundings you can be eliminated more easily or you could get hurt.

    Whether you are new to the game or just want to improve your field awareness, AC Paintball is here with some tips to help you get through your game. By improving your field awareness, you can improve your overall skills and be a more valuable player.

    Where All of the Bunkers Are

    The first thing to know is the layout of the field. It is a good idea to take a walk around the field before your game and figure out a general game plan. Paintball bunkers are not set up arbitrarily. They are always carefully laid out with some sort of strategy in mind.

    As you take a walk around the field, think about what path you can take. Figure out how you can safely hop from bunker to bunker to get where you want to go. By planning ahead you won’t have to think about it as much later and can focus on other field awareness aspects.

    Where Your Opponents Are

    The next aspect you should always pay attention to is where your opponents are on the AC Paintball field. While your team is creating a strategy to eliminate your opponents, your opponents are developing a strategy to eliminate you and your team. Knowing where your opponents are is important for both eliminating players and staying in the game.

    While on the AC Paintball field, continually scan your surroundings and look for signs of movement. It is a good idea to keep your view low to the ground as some people may choose to crawl. Listening is also important. Listen for marker shots, people talking or leaves rustling. You can also pay attention to where the ref is. Refs typically go towards where they predict shots to happen so if the ref moves toward you, there may be an opponent nearby.

    Where Your Teammates Are

    Your teammates are important as well. If it’s one versus many, you won’t have much chance of winning, even if you are a highly skilled player. Therefore, it is important to watch out for your teammates and help keep them in your AC Paintball game. If they get ambushed, run to their aid. If they run out of ammo, share some of yours.

    Working together with your teammates will also help you win the AC Paintball game faster. If your teammate needs help surrounding an opponent, help them do so. Using numbers is a great strategy that can help you win many games. Travel in groups of two or three and work together to take out as many opponents as you can. Pretty soon, you may find you have the upper hand and can easily win the game.

    About How Many Players Are Left

    If numbers can help you win the game, you will want to constantly try and pay attention to how many players are left. This knowledge can help you decide how many chances to take. If your team has fewer players than your opponents, you will want to play carefully and not take many chances. On the other hand, if your team has more players, you can use that to your advantage, surround the remaining players, and win the AC Paintball game.

    How Much Spare Ammo You Have Left

    Finally, you will want to pay attention to how much ammo you have left. Running out of paintballs is one of the worst mistakes you can make. It’s important to make sure you have enough before your AC Paintball game begins. However, if you end up shooting more than expected, you will want to keep an eye on how much you have left.     Paintball is an intense sport that isn’t for everyone. Whether your child wants to play on their own or was invited to an AC Paintball party, it is important to think about if they can handle playing. You don’t want them to run into any issues, get hurt, or get into a conflict with the other players. Below are seven questions you can ask yourself to help you determine if paintball is right for your child.

    Are They Old Enough To Play?

    The first thing you will want to check is whether or not your child is old enough. At AC Paintball our age limit is ten and up. It is also worth noting that minors will need their safety waiver signed by a parent, guardian, or temporary guardian with legal responsibility for the child.

    Do They Take Well To New Experiences?

    Next, you will want to think about how your child typically reacts to new experiences. Do they take to them like a duck in water or are they more on the skittish side? As stated before, paintball is an intense sport. If your child gets intimidated by new experiences, playing at AC Paintball may be too much for them.

    Think about other intense experiences they have tried. Have they ridden roller coasters or enjoyed a fireworks show? Were they okay with it? Thinking about past experiences is one of the best ways to determine if your child will be okay with paintball.

    Are They Outgoing?

    Not only is paintball highly stimulating, but it also requires a great deal of communication. Teammates have to constantly talk to each other and communicate their plans. If your child is more on the shy side, they may struggle with this aspect, but it is not a make-or-break quality. If your child is shy, playing paintball may help them learn to be more outgoing.

    Do They Get Hurt Easily?

    During a game, paintballs fly at players at high speeds. Getting hit with a paintball does sting, especially if your muscle tissue is weak where you get hit. A paintball can also bruise the skin or cause welts. Some children are more tolerant of getting hit than others. Talk to your child and make sure they understand everything involved.

    If you and your child decide to go forward with the paintball game, there are some extra measures you can take to help prevent your child from getting hurt. Have them wear extra padding or layers of clothing and make sure all of their equipment is fitted properly.

    Can They Understand and Follow the Rules?

    Following the rules is very important in ensuring your child and the rest of the party does not get hurt. Ask yourself if your child is a good listener and if they can follow the rules. Before they arrive at AC Paintball, make it clear to them that it is important to listen to the AC Paintball staff and refs. This will help make sure their day goes well without issues.

    Are They Observant?

    Playing paintball also takes an observant eye. You have to constantly scan the field to look for opponents. If you don’t pay close attention, you can get eliminated quickly or miss your chance to eliminate your opponents. Like the ability to be outgoing, this is not a make or break quality. However, it is something extra to think about when determining if paintball is right for your child.  

    How Competitive Are They?

    Has your child tried other sports before? How competitive were they? Paintball is a sport that is easy to lose yourself in your competitive nature. If your opponent catches you by surprise, it is easy to think of it as unfair and get upset. If you do decide to let your child play, it is a good idea to let them know that it is just a game and that getting eliminated is not the end of the world.     Looking for a new paintball game to try? Attack and defend games are a popular alternative to more traditional paintball games. Most attack and defend games involve some sort of castle or fort. One team tries to defend the fort while the other team attacks it.

    The game is won when either the defending team eliminates all of the attacking team or when the attacking team takes over the castle or fort. Usually, this is accomplished by raising a new flag or being in control when the time has expired. You can make the rules and winning-conditions whatever you want!

    AC Paintball’s Black Ops Pentagon field is the perfect choice for an attack and defend game. It can accommodate large groups of us to 100 players and is a popular field choice among AC Paintball players in southern New Jersey.     Defending

    Pay Attention

    When playing defense for an attack and defend game, being aware of your surroundings is extremely important. If you let your guard down for even a few seconds you could be eliminated or even lose control of the castle. Make sure you come to AC Paintball with a good night’s rest and a proper breakfast.

    Know When To Sacrifice Yourself

    Paintball is a game that forces you to make many quick decisions. Just one decision made by one player can affect the outcome of the entire game. In an attack and defend came one decision you may have to make is determining if you should sacrifice yourself. If you spot an opponent far away, it is probably not a good idea to sacrifice your position to try and eliminate them. On the other hand, if an opponent is about to take the fort, it is a good idea to sacrifice yourself so the rest of your team can stay in control of the fort.

    Spread Out

    If your team stays in one place, your opponents can easily close in around you and bombard you with shots. Then they can easily win the game. Prevent this from happening by spreading out and covering more of the field. Have some of your teammates play offensively out on the field while others stay back and carefully defend your fort.

    Play Aggressively

    If your job is to defend the fort, and you are one of the last ones in like, you will need to play more aggressively to ensure your opponents do not take the castle. This does not mean be rude or attempt to hurt others, though. It means that you just may want to take more shots to improve your chances of eliminating your opponents. If you are defending the fort, make sure you have plenty of ammo before you start your AC Paintball game.

    Attacking

    Power in Numbers

    In paintball, numbers can mean a lot. When you have two or more players surrounding one, the side with more players is more likely to win. Keep this in mind when creating a strategy. As soon as the game starts, get your team moving toward the fort or castle. Travel in groups of two or three to gain an advantage over single players and have back up if someone is under fire.

    Have Decoys

    Once your AC Paintball game starts, the defending team will be on guard keeping a close watch on your team. With this in mind, it will be difficult to get past them to steal the fort. One of your best counter strategies will be to have decoys. Have some of your teammates try to distract the defending team. If they manage to do so, the rest of your team can jump in and try to take the fort.

    Take Advantage of Respawning

    For many attack and defend AC Paintball games, teams have agreed to use a respawning rule. This means that for the first five minutes or so, players can re-enter the game after being eliminated just by going back to start. Usually, it is just the attacking team that is allowed to respawn, but you can choose to do both if you wish. If you do enact this rule, use it to your advantage. Take more chances since the consequences won’t be as bad.

    Take Chances

    Even if your AC Paintball game doesn’t involve respawning, you should still take chances. If you don’t take chances, you likely won’t win the game. To win the game, you have to play with confidence, believe in your plan, and play your best. When you do, you will have a better chance of being victorious.

    An AC Paintball scenario paintball game can be very different from a speedball or woodsball game. Scenario games have a different set of expectations, rules, and guidelines. For some, it can be a little tricky to adjust to this types of game. You have to change your mindset and focus on different aspects of paintball.     Know the Overall Storyline

    Not every single AC Paintball scenario paintball game has a specific storyline, but a majority of them do. You should know the reason why the two teams are fighting each other. Also, if there is a specific timeline of events, you should know when each event is supposed to occur as well. By knowing why you are there, what your motivation is, and the sequence of events, you can help your AC Paintball scenario game run smoothly.

    Make sure the rest of your AC Paintball team knows these aspects as well. You may find it helpful to print out a timeline and other guidelines to hand out to all of the players.

    Know Your Characters Role

    If you want to eliminate as many opponents as possible, the first thing you need to focus on is aiming. Timing can be just as important, especially when many of your opponents are moving. You need both accurate aiming and precise timing to consistently hit your target. So how do you achieve good timing skills? The best answer is practice.     Be Aware Of Your Surroundings

    One of the first things you should concern yourself with when judging the timing of your shot is your surroundings. Field awareness is an important aspect of any AC Paintball game. You should know where your opponents are as well as your teammates. This helps you strategize and make smart decisions.

    You need to think about your target. Ask yourself some of these important questions.

    • Are you currently aiming at an opponent or teammate?
    • How close is your target?
    • What direction are they moving?
    • Is anyone or anything in your way?

    Think About Team Strategy

    When it comes to moving targets, knowing how to time your shot right takes a bit more skill. You need to be able to analyze many aspects at once. You have to figure out how long it will take the paintball to reach the distance at which your target is standing.  You have to figure out where your target will be when the paintball reached that point. Then you need to pull the trigger at precisely the right time.

    One way you can make hitting targets easier is by learning to predict your opponent’s moves. Think about what you would do in their situation and then try to figure out how you can gain the upper hand. Be ready to adjust your plan quickly though, just in case they don’t do exactly what you expect.
